Cornerstone church beliefs
God
We believe that God is all powerful, and the creator and sustainer of the universe. He is all knowing, ever present, unchanging, completely worthy of our trust, and above all, Holy. It is in Him that we live, move, and exist. He is our Father. He is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and His promises.

Jesus
We believe that Jesus Christ is both completely God and completely man, conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless, perfect life so that He could be a substitution for us in satisfying God’s demands for perfection. He was crucified for our sins, died, was buried, resurrected, and ascended into heaven, and is now alive today in the presence of God the Father and His people. He is the only one who can reconcile us to God, was empowered by the Holy Spirit to inaugurate God’s kingdom on earth, and is coming back again to reign as King as He promised.

Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit lives in each Christian from salvation. The Holy Spirit’s presence makes people aware of their need for Jesus Christ, guides believers into all truth, and exalts Christ. He convicts people of their sin, God’s righteousness, and the coming judgment. He comforts us, regenerates us, justifies us, and through His sanctifying power enables us to live a holy life. He gives the believer spiritual gifts when they are saved and enables us to minister super-naturally.

Bible
We believe that the Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative Word of God, written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is God’s Word to all people, the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs about living, without any error, and is entirely relevant to our daily lives.

Sin and Salvation
We believe man was created to exist forever, and he will exist either eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. Sin is missing the mark of God’s standard set for us and has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. Salvation is a free gift from God, cannot be earned through our own efforts, and is only found through the acceptance of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. It occurs the moment we put our faith in the death and resurrection of Christ.

Baptism
We believe baptism is symbolic of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ and is mandated by Scripture. It symbolizes the spiritual cleansing through forgiveness that follows salvation, and the newness of life for believers.
Romans 6:4, Acts 2:41; 8:12; 10:47-48, Matthew 3:16-17; 28:18-20, Colossians 2:12
Trinity
We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. God has existed in relationship with Himself for all eternity. Although each member of the Trinity serves different functions, they each possess equal power and authority.

Church
We believe that the Church consists of all who put their faith in Jesus Christ. The Church exists to carry on the ministry of Jesus Christ and further advance His Kingdom by undoing the works of the enemy, preaching, living the good news of God’s love, and discipling the nations – baptizing and teaching them to love and obey God. The Church works together in love and unity, intent on the ultimate purpose of glorifying Christ.

Communion
We believe communion is intended for followers of Christ, by which they acknowledge and remember Jesus’ death on the cross, the ultimate sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins.
Matthew 26:26-28Luke 22:19-20, I Corinthians 11:23-29
man
We believe man is made in the image of God and is the supreme object of His creation. Every human personality is uniquely created, possesses dignity, and is worthy of respect and Christian love. Man was created to have fellowship with God but became separated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man cannot attain a right relationship with God through his own effort and is in need of a Savior.
