Why We Do Church Differently

The Church Was Never Meant to Be an Audience. It Was Meant to Be a Body.

Church has become something many Christians attend. A service, a sermon, a few songs, and then back to everyday life. But Scripture describes something much greater.

The first-century church was a community of believers who grew in God's Word, depended on the Holy Spirit, shared life together, and actively lived out their faith.

At Cornerstone Church, we're pursuing that same biblical vision.

We're making disciples, not building an audience.

ACTS 2:42

Returning to the Foundations of the Early Church

Four biblical practices that shape how we gather, grow, and live together.

Learn the Word

Biblical teaching that develops mature disciples.

Remember and Share

Communion, shared meals, and life together.

Live in Community

Genuine relationships and mutual care.

Seek His Presence

Prayer, worship, and the Holy Spirit's leading.

  • Every Believer Has a Role. Every Gift Has a Purpose.

The church is the body of Christ, and every believer has a part to play.

Scripture tells us that spiritual leaders are called to equip believers for the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:11-16). Ministry belongs to the entire church.

At Cornerstone, we encourage every believer to grow spiritually, discover and exercise their gifts, minister to others, and participate in making disciples.

We believe faith should be evident in how we live, love, serve, and follow Jesus.

  • Why We Gather in Homes

    The setting serves the mission.

Meeting in homes allows us to prioritize genuine relationships, meaningful conversation, personal ministry, and shared life.

We believe the biblical purposes of the church can be accomplished in different settings. For Cornerstone, gathering in homes is an intentional choice that helps us live out the community and discipleship we see in Scripture.

We currently meet in Palm Desert, California, with a vision to see communities of believers gathering in homes throughout the Coachella Valley.

Our desire is to grow in faith, grow together, and make disciples wherever God leads us.

  • Come and See. Go and Be.

We Gather as the Church. We Live as the Church.

We gather to worship, learn God's Word, pray, encourage one another, and grow in Christ.

Then we go into our homes, workplaces, neighborhoods, and communities to put our faith into action.

We love and serve others, share the gospel, exercise our spiritual gifts, and participate in the work of God's Kingdom.

Church is more than something we attend. It's who we are together in Christ and how we live for Him every day.
